Here’s a somewhat random but not so random question… Since you mentioned not liking the original paper bag princess because she wasn’t Princess-ey enough, who was your favourite Disney Princess growing up? And has it changed now you’re a wise old adult 😁 (obviously you can have more than one)

EmilyHaha, I liked Belle. She read a lot which I identified with but I also liked The Beauty and the Beast for its Stockholm syndrome story because I CAN’T lie. Now I like Tiana because she reminds me of myself and my writing career, consistently working. I was really bummed that The Princess and the Frog was a flop because I miss the old animated Disney films.
And while Elsa’s pretty cliche eVeRyOnE’s FaVe PrIncEsS!!!!!! now, I do appreciate how they made her a bit insecure and socially-awkward.

Rebecca(sorry for the late reply) Yes, I like Tiana too, she’s one of my favs too and it’s such an underrated film! My favourite princess is Merida! I wasn’t a fan of the Disney princesses around when I was a kid, instead I liked Robin Hood, the rescuers and the sword in the stone – and if we’re going to go all in to contextual stuff, then I notice these are all under dog stories, which is definitely a theme that I resonate with in both my own writing and also the stuff I enjoy to read/watch. Funny huh?
